Thanks South Africa (invoking the genocide convention joined by Israel MK Ofer Cassif) and Yemen (blocking ships to/from Israel) for challenging genocide, ethnic cleansing, war crimes, and democide in Palestine. We need a ceasefire. USA and Israel have shown contempt; most human rights organizations and UN nations condemn USA and Israel atrocities (backed by UK/EU) against Palestinians for 75 years. The Nakba never ended. more

(Re: “Manhattan faculty has ‘no confidence’ in prez,” Feb. 1) To the Editor: Beginning in 1958 I served Manhattan College for 50 years, variously as a history professor and chair of the department, speaker of the College Senate and the Promotion & Tenure Committee, founder of its Holocaust Resource Center (renamed the Holocaust, Genocide, and Interfaith Center), chaired the Steering Committee for Middle States accreditation 1999-2001, led the follow up body on the viability of the college’s Graduate Programs, and numerous other appointments, committees, and responsibilities. more

 To the Editor: In reading Governor Kathy Hochul’s 2024 State of the State, I was pleased to read that Governor Hochul noted that in striving to expand access to primary care for adults with complex needs, the State will “increase support for healthcare providers serving individuals with physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities.” I commend the Governor’s commitment to improving access to quality care for those with physical disabilities—something that is tremendously needed in our State.  more
