Scavenger hunt
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it is time for the Greenburgh Nature Center to host its annual “Turkey Scavenger Hunt and Nature Walk” on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 1:30 p.m.
All “hunters” will gather on the main lawn to begin their search for wooden disks called “turkey tokens,” which were hidden in advance by the nature center staff. Following the scavenger hunt, visitors will be able to participate in nature crafts and other activities, see the live animal museum and enjoy light refreshments.
This program is open to the public, but pre-registration is recommended. Admission costs $8 per person and this fee includes all scheduled activities as well as admission to the manor house exhibits.
The nature center is located at 99 Dromore Road, just off Central Park Avenue, in Scarsdale, N.Y. Call 914-723-3470.
This is part of the November 12, 2009 online edition of The Riverdale Press.
