Sinfonietta show
The Sinfonietta of Riverdale will perform at Riverdale Temple, 4545 Independence Ave., at 2:30 p.m.
Solo cellist Wilhelmina Smith will join the orchestra to perform a work by Esa-Pekka Salonen, “Mania,” for solo cello and ensemble. Mezzo soprano Theodora Hanslowe, who performs regularly at the Metropolitan Opera; and Andrew Drost, a tenor appearing frequently at New York City Opera, will be the soloists for Gustav Mahler’s symphonic “The Song of the Earth.”
Tickets are $35 ($25 for seniors and Riverdale Temple members, $15 for students). Subscriptions are also available.

Singer/songwriter
The Uptown Coffeehouse, located in the Riverdale Yonkers Society for Ethical Culture building at 4450 Fieldston Road, presents a performance by folk singer/songwriter Antje Duvekot at 5 p.m.
Ms. Duvekot is a product of the Boston acoustic music scene and has won numerous prizes for her work, including the grand prize at the John Lennon Songwriting Competition in 2000.
Admission is $15.
