Tree sale
The Robert J. Christen School, PS 81 Parents’ Association will host its annual tree and wreath sale, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Douglas firs and sheared balsams between 5 and 8-feet tall will be on sale, along with 10 to 12-inch decorated and undecorated wreaths.
All proceeds benefit the children of PS 81. The sale will continue Sunday, Dec. 13.

Gallery tour
Lehman College Art Gallery, located at 250 Bedford Park Boulevard West, will host a free art workshop and gallery tour, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Visitors will participate in a guided tour of the exhibition “Beyond Appearances,” a collection of work that investigates portraiture and includes painting, photography, video and sculpture. Families will draw from the exhibition to create an edition of hand-printed holiday cards.
The tour and workshop are offered in English and Spanish. All ages are welcome, and the event is free.

Craft fair
PS 24, located at 660 W. 246th St. at Independence Avenue, will hold a gift and craft fair, from noon to 4 p.m.
A variety of vendors are expected, selling jewelry, clothing and items for children.
Parents are encouraged to bring their kids. There will be a variety of activities for them, including face painting and decorating cookies. There will also be entertainment in the form of a magic show and songs from the school’s fifth-grade glee club.

Film and feast
The Riverdale-Yonkers Society for Ethical Culture, located at 4450 Fieldston Road, will host an event called “Film and Feast,” at 5 p.m.
Attendees are invited to watch the film Food, Inc. and to then enjoy in a meal of sustainable foods.
The event is free, but people are asked to bring along nonperishable food items that will be donated to those in need.

Christmas tea
Riverdale Presbyterian Church, located at 4765 Henry Hudson Parkway West, is holding its annual holiday bazaar and Christmas Tea, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
High school students will be selling baked goods, coffee and home-cooked foods to benefit their youth groups’ mission trip with Habitat for Humanity to Newburgh, N.Y. Vendors will sell gift baskets, vintage items and antiques.
The Christmas Tea will take place from noon to 2 p.m. and will feature homemade baked goods, tea and sandwiches for a donation of $5.

Family art
Wave Hill, located at West 249th Street at Independence Avenue, will host Family Art Project: “It’s a Wrap/Es un regalo,” in the Sally & Gilbert Kerlin Learning Center, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Parents and children will work to create wrapping paper by printing repeated patterns inspired by Wave Hill’s evergreens and other natural elements of the season.
The program is free with admission to the grounds.

Community music
Wave Hill, located at West 249th Street at Independence Avenue, will host two community music groups performing in Armor Hall in the Wave Hill House, from 1 to 2 p.m.
The event is part of the garden’s Community Music Series this holiday season. At 1 p.m., Rosie Steinberg and Denis Wings will perform cabaret. Marjorie Nisenholtz will perform Richard Strauss’ “Horn Concerto No. 2” and Reinhold Gliere’s “Valse Triste,” at 1:30 p.m.
The concert is free with admission to the grounds.

Flea market
St. John’s Church will host a flea market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the old St. John’s School, located at 3030 Godwin Terrace.
Visitors will be able to peruse new and used clothing, bric-a-brac and more. There will be free parking.
