Class strengthens fathers' bonds

The Riverdale YM-YWHA's Family and Parenting Center is now enrolling fathers and their newborn to 6-month-old babies in "Dads and Babies: Play and Talk," which meets on Sundays, starting on Oct. 14, at 10:30 a.m., at 5625 Arlington Ave.

The six-week series provides new fathers the opportunity to compare notes with other fathers, learn infant massage, and interact with a trained facilitator, all while playing with their babies.

The facilitator, Jessica Shapley, a social worker and mother of two, has a great deal of experience with young families and creates a relaxed setting for fathers to share questions and answers.
