James Gormley chews the fat
On April 26, Riverdalian James Gormley gave a lecture "Fats: Essential for Life" at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta at the ALIVE! Expo health show.
Mr. Gormley said Fats are the food versions of Rodney Dangerfield: they don't get no respect! Demonized by agribusiness and guardians of public health for decades, good fats are finally getting some of the respect they deserve.
In this lecture, Mr. Gormley exposed the dirty little secret behind how America was tricked into thinking margarine was healthy and into believing that cholesterol was our biggest health threat.
Mr. Gormley is the associate director of communications for Solgar Vitamin and Herb. He is also an award-winning journalist, published author and member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors with 20 years of experience in health-related media communications.
Mr. Gormley served as the longtime editor-in-chief of Better Nutrition magazine from 1995 to 2002. Mr. Gormley was a US media delegate in China in support of good fats in 2001. Mr. Gormley has written scores of published articles on the benefits of essential fatty acids, has done more than 60 radio and TV interviews about DHA and fish oils, and has authored such good fat-friendly books as DHA, A Good Fat: Essential for Life, Health Benefits of Phosphatidylserine and the User's Guide to Brain-Boosting Supplements.
