New parking report is outrageous

I agree with Tony Cassino’s Point of view when he refers to Transportation Alternatives’ Parking Report and its recommendation that the city eliminate parking requirements for new residential construction.
Is Transportation Alternatives in LaLa Land? Many people in Riverdale and the other outer boroughs need cars. Any reduction of garage space in new buildings will cause extreme hardship.
The report states, “The supply increase serves latent demand.” That isn’t the reality. An article in The New York Times on Sunday, “The Ultimate Luxury: A Garage,” brings home the truth. Residences in Manhattan that have garage space add value to the properties, sometimes as much as $1 million.
It sounds as if Mayor Mike had a hand in writing the report. He, especially, has no clue!
