I just happened to stumble upon this article while I was searching for some friends from the past. I attended De Witt Clinton from 1971-1974. I then went on to Lehman College where i graduated and received a BA degree. I came from Riverdale JHS 141 and think it is sad they are closing my school. I remember I scored 101 place out of the 3000 students or so in the 12th grade, and scored the highest in earth science regents. Anyway, back when i went there were three scheduled sessions, the earliest starting at 7am. There were maybe 15k or 17k students. It was all boys and very crowded. This just makes me sad that the place I graduated from might close down. I hope it stays open. Back in my days they did not have powerful drug penetration like they have now. It was a different, quieter time. I think a lot has to do with the times, and the school should not be blamed. Its still a good school. The kids are still good. Please give De Witt Clinton a chance.
