One of the loonier elements of this proposal is the introduction of parallel parking on Broadway. So, if one of the objectives of the plan is to slow down speeding traffic, just imagine what would happen when someone tries to parallel park. Do we really think that the speeders will slow down or (gasp!) stop while the parker maneuvers into place? More likely, the parker will be hit! Parallel parking is a wonderful idea on lightly travelled Independence Avenue but on busy Broadway it's just ill-conceived and insane!
