Apartment burgled

1. A 41-year-old woman returned to her 2745 Reservoir Ave. apartment at around 11 p.m. on June 27 to find that an unknown person had entered and removed property from the premises, according to police.

The woman reported a laptop, a white gold ring and $5,000 in cash missing. The police interviewed neighbors, but no additional information was obtained.

Security cameras in the apartment may have captured additional information, police said.

The case remains open.

2. Breitling burglary

A 24-year old man returned home at around 10:30 p.m. on June 27 to find his apartment at 2010 W. 262 St. burglarized, according to police. The victim said he found his front door broken and open, and property removed from the residence.

The victim told police that a laptop, Breitling watch, iPod touch, cell phone and a sculpture worth more than $3,000, had been stolen. Police said they conducted interviews in the area but failed to reveal any additional information.

The case remains open.

3. Cabbie robbed

An on-duty taxi driver was assaulted and robbed at around noon on June 29 at the southeast corner of West 225 Street and Broadway, according to police.

The victim told police he was stopped at a red light when he asked two male passengers for the taxi fare. Police said that the two passengers began punching the driver, causing injuries to his face, hands and arms. 

One or both of the attackers reached into the driver’s pockets and removed a Samsun cell phone and a set of keys before fleeing with the property, the police said.

The taxi driver was taken to a nearby hospital.

The taxi had a functioning security camera, but police said they have yet to obtain footage of the event.

The case remains open.

4. Marble Hill robbers caught

A young man was approached by two men while walking on West 225 Street at the northwest corner of Marble Hill Avenue at 9 a.m. on June 30, according to police.

One of the men asked the victim, “What’s up?” and then followed him as he walked down the street, police said. The young man was then stopped by the two men, surrounded on the sidewalk and told to turn over his cell phone, according to police.
