Belle Vogel touched many hearts

Belle Vogel, a 20-year resident of Riverdale, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, Dec. 13. at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale.

She recently celebrated her 100th birthday (on Aug. 24) with over 35 family members and friends present. Ms. Vogel was a classical pianist and was the musical director of the Bronx House on Pelham Parkway for over 25 years, where she led the orchestra and choral group.

Ms. Vogel is survived by her two loving daughters, Jeanie Felberbaum of Riverdale and Roberta Freifeld of Staten Island and their husbands, Frank Felberbaum and Arthur Freifeld. 

She is also survived by her four cherished grandchildren — Bob, Nancy, Sharon and Adrienne — and five great-grandchildren: Catherine, Morgan, Leo, Olivia and Derek. In addition, Belle was survived by her beloved close friend, Morty Schwartz. 

Contributions in Belle’s memory can be made to the Hebrew Home, which lovingly cared for her.
