Cabbie robbed

1. Police are searching for a man who robbed a cab driver of $230. 

A 53-year-old cab driver stopped to drop off his male passenger, about 25, in front of 95 W. 195th St. at 3 p.m. on Jan. 10. After the driver rejected three fake 20-dollar bills that the passenger offered, the passenger left the car, entered the building and returned to the car, where he began disputing with the cab driver.

After waving his arms and arguing, the passenger pulled out a knife and took the driver’s money. 

The robbery is under investigation.

2. Bedroom burglar

A 35-year-old woman left her home around 7:20 a.m. on Jan. 9 only to return at 3 p.m. to a damaged front door lock, police said.  

When she entered the residence at 2807 Claflin Ave,, she discovered items from her closet had been thrown across her bed, while her bureau and drawers had been opened and searched through.  

After a thorough search, however, it appeared the burglar had not taken anything. 

The burglary is open to detectives. 

3. Grand larceny auto 

Police said on Jan. 9, a 37-year-old man parked his silver Ford Transit Connect on the street outside 115 W. 197th St. around 9 p.m. 

When he returned to the location at 11 a.m. the next day, the vehicle was gone. 

Authorities said there were cameras at the location. The grand larceny auto case is under investigation.

4. Rims, tires taken

At 8 a.m. on Jan. 9, a 36-year-old man discovered an unknown perpetrator or perpetrators had taken two tires and rims, valued at $2,000, from his 2014 Honda Accord. It was parked at the corner of Independence Avenue and West 237th Street.  

The grand larceny is open to detectives.
