Cell phone used as bait

1. Police said a 25-year-old man browsing Craigslist for a new cell phone came across a post advertising a $400 Samsung device.

After contacting the man who posted the ad, the 25-year-old arranged to meet with the seller outside 3600 Bailey Ave. on July 25.

When the would-be buyer arrived at the location at 11 a.m., the seller displayed a knife, demanded the victim empty his pockets and fled with $100 in cash. The robbery is under investigation. 

2. Late-night larceny

After an evening at a nightclub in Manhattan on July 23, a 30-year-old male living at 545 W. 235th St. returned to his home with two women from the club, according to police. 

Some time after the women had left the premises, the man discovered his $10,000 Rolex watch, car keys and $35,000 car were missing. 

He reported his discovery to the police at 8 a.m. the next day. The grand larceny is open to detectives. 

3. DUI arrest

At 12:20 a.m. on July 28, a 55-year-old man was involved in an accident with another vehicle opposite 6141 Broadway. 

When officers approached his 2010 Ford, they found the man had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and impaired speech. He was unable to stand steadily on his own. 

After the man refused to take a Breathalyzer test, officers also discovered cocaine in his right pant pocket. He was arrested and charged with DUI; drug possession charges will follow, police said. 

4. Galaxy grabbed

A 45-year-old woman was talking on her Samsung Galaxy phone while walking at the corner of Sedgwick Avenue and 195th Street on July 23 at 1:10 p.m. 

As she walked and talked, a man wearing a white T-shirt and camouflaged shorts approached her, snatched the phone out of her hand and ran off. 

The grand larceny case is open to detectives. 

5. Netherland Ave. break-in

A 45-year-old woman returned to her home at 3140 Netherland Ave. on July 25 at 2:30 p.m. and discovered an unknown person had broken a rear window and entered the premises. 

Removed from the location were a $500 iPad, a $2,000 laptop, a $300 camera and a $200 iPod. 

Police are investigating the burglary.
