Rabbi Yehoshua Engelman, based in Jerusalem, will be playing songs of love from his four albums and also previously unrecorded music. Yehoshua’s sensitive and moving compositions ornament words from the Bible, prayer and modern Israeli poets. They are loved and sung in many places in Israel. Several of his musical settings are featured on piyut.org. While Yehoshua has performed in Israel and abroad, this is a rare opportunity to hear him in New York.
Yehoshua has served as the rabbi and educational director of the Yakar Study Centre in Tel Aviv, ran Yakar of London, taught at the Jerusalem Kolot Beit Midrash, Siach Yitzhak Hesder Yeshiva, Yeshivat HaKotel, and Yeshivat Othniel. He also runs a private psychotherapy practice.
