Woman robbed in Van Cortlandt Village

1. Three unknown men robbed a 43-year-old woman in front of 3971 Gouverneur Ave., while she was walking home at about 8 p.m. on Dec. 7. 

Police said the victim was walking past the building, when three men tackled her to the ground. 

In the encounter, the men took her phone and purse, estimated at a total of $64, according to her account to the police. She said she could not describe her alleged attackers.  

This case is open to investigation. 

 

Café burglarized

2. The Moss Café at 3260 Johnson Ave., was burglarized on Sunday night by an unknown perpetrator. 

Police say video surveillance shows a perpetrator breaking in through the front door of the restaurant and taking a money drawer, a safe and $3,000 in cash.  

This case remains open to detectives. 

 

Another violent cabbie 

3. Yet another altercation between a taxi driver and his customer broke out in the northwest Bronx, this time ending in felony assault, according to police. 

The cabbie pulled over in front of the BP gas station at 3010 Riverdale Ave. shortly before 3 a.m. on Dec. 10 a.m., and he and his passenger, 32, stepped out and started arguing, police said. 

The cabbie struck his alleged victim in the right eye with was seemed to be a metal pipe and drove off in an unknown direction, police said.   

There was a camera on scene, but officers did not have access to the footage at the time the report was made, police said. 

This case is open to detectives.

 

Catalytic converters targeted again

4. Police say another catalytic converter was stolen from a car parked in a driveway this weekend, in the second incident of this particular crime in as many months after more than a year-long hiatus.

The thieves took the $2,000 part from a 2008 Toyota parked in front of 750 Kappock St., the home of the 68-year-old victim. 

This case is open to detectives.
