1. After two women, ages 21 and 25, ate at a restaurant near Broadway and West 231st Street on July 19 around 5:33 a.m., they walked out without paying their $76.49 bill, police said. 

When the restaurant’s owner tried to stop the suspects, they kept walking, so he reported them to the police

Officers placed the women under arrest soon after. They were charged with theft of services. 

2. Watch thief

A 61-year-old woman returned to her home at 3419 Irwin Ave. on July 17 at 1:30 p.m. and discovered her door was broken and her apartment ransacked, according to police. 

The unknown perpetrators managed to abscond with $1,500 in miscellaneous jewelry and two watches, a Bulova and a Movado, valued at $800. 

The burglary case is open to detectives. 

3. Cell phone snatched 

A 35-year-old man was walking near West 231st Street and Riverdale Avenue on July 15 around 7:55 p.m., when he was approached by two younger men. The duo attacked the 35-year-old, causing a laceration to his face, and took his cell phone, valued at $100. 

A 19-year-old male was arrested and charged with robbery in connection to the case; the second perpetrator has not yet been arrested. 

4. Restaurant assault

At around 1 a.m. on July 19, three men got into a verbal dispute at the El Economico Restaurant at 5589 Broadway. After two of the men asked the third, a 39-year-old, to step outside, the three men were involved in a fight. The 39-year-old victim sustained a swollen, bloody lip. 

Police are investigating the assault. 

5. GPS grabbed 

Police said a 40-year-old man parked his vehicle opposite 3051 Johnson Ave. on the morning of July 18. 

When he returned to his car at 4:40 p.m., he discovered his passenger side window was broken and an unknown person had taken his GPS, valued at $110. 

The petit larceny case is still open to detectives.
