'Gentle giant' Kevin Brady dies at 51

 Kevin Michael Brady of Robin Lane died on July 23 at HealthAlliance Hospital’s Broadway Campus.  He was 51.  

He was born in the Bronx, a son of the late Philip and Mary Kavanaugh Brady. Mr. Brady was a graduate of St. Margaret’s Grammar School, Mt. St. Michael High School and attended Ramapo College.  

His work career began early and included staffing the Information Booth at Grand Central Station, bartending, and owning and operating Brady’s Riverdale Inn in the Bronx with his brother. He was a Corrections Officer at Greenhaven Prison for 20 years.

A gentle giant, he was devoted to his wife and family.  He enjoyed gardening and doing repairs around the house.  On March 17, 2006 he married Mary Fleming in St. Joseph’s Church in Kingston.  

Surviving in addition to his wife is his step-son Ian Schneider; two brothers, Philip Brady and his wife Cathy; Johnny Brady and his wife Sarah, all of the Bronx; three sisters, Vera Kunz and her husband Bob of Pawleys Island, SC; Elizabeth Metz and her husband Bob of Manhattan; Maureen Maher and her husband Patrick of the Bronx.  Many nieces and nephews also survive.
