Girl Scouts got it right on fracking

To the editor,

I was so excited to see two wonderful letters in last week’s paper, from Madison Xu and Athena Spencer of Girl Scout Troop 3463, expressing their happiness about the New York State ban on fracking, and their thanks to northwest Bronx activists cited in the article, “Activists exult in state’s ban on fracking” (Dec. 25, 2014).

You’re so right — our state, its land and water, its wildlife, and the health of its people and its kids, are far too precious to endanger by fracking. A few of us activists in Bronx Climate Justice North, the group referred to in the December article, would love to meet with you and your troop.
