Holiday lights, dancing and donuts

The largest menorah in the Bronx and a decorated Christmas tree lit up at the Bell Tower Memorial this weekend, as the first night of Hanukkah coincided with Christmas Eve in a rare occurrence this year.

More than 100 people gathered for the lighting of two candles at the memorial Sunday, as the second day of Hanukkah began at sunset.

Dancing, singing and the traditional Hanukkah treats of donuts and latkes, or potato pancakes, accompanied the festivities. Rabbi Levi Shemtov of Chabad Lubavitch of Riverdale and Councilman Andrew Cohen lit two candles.
