Hop off the train and get into a car
Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Metro- North Railroad have combined to create a new rental car program for railroad riders. Starting next spring, an Enterprise employee will meet passengers right as they step off the train and either give them the keys to their rental car or personally drive them to where the car can be picked up. The Riverdale station, at the end of West 254th Street, is one of 23 initial locations selected. Metro-North customers can call the Enterprise location serving their specific station, go through a short booking process and their complete trip and rental will be arranged. They will also receive a five-percent discount off normal rental costs. To return the car, customers can drive it to any one of the participating railroad stations, put a special tag in the window and drop-off the keys in a secure box. "The railroad has worked hard to provide transportation for all people in our region, not just the commuter traveling in and out of Grand Central Terminal everyday," said Peter A. Cannito, president of Metro-North.
