WAVE HILL, located at West 249th Street and Independence Avenue, will host its next Family Art Project on Saturday and Sunday, July 24 and 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Ecology Building. During this week’s activity, titled “Water, Water Everywhere,” young visitors will sketch the river landscape, run through sprinklers and discover that water really is everywhere. Then, participants will use water with paint, crayons and collage to create liquid landscapes that they can take home. This program is free with paid grounds admission. THE RIVERDALE Library, at 5540 Mosholu Ave., presents the following upcoming programs for kids:
- Baby Story Time, a special program for infants up to 18 months old, will be held today, Thursday, July 22, at 11:30 a.m. Participants and their parents can enjoy great books, as well as lively songs and fun rhymes, while meeting other neighborhood babies.
- On Friday, July 23, at 1:30 p.m., the library will host Fun Fridays, a weekly program for ages 5 to 11. Participants will have the chance to play a variety of Nintendo Wii video games and board games, as well as enjoy other fun activities, with staff members and other children their age.
- The library presents Toddler Story Time, for ages 18 months to 3 years old, on Tuesday, July 27, at 11:30 a.m. During this program, participants will enjoy interactive stories, action songs and finger plays, while interacting with other toddlers in the neighborhood.
- The library will host Reading Aloud, for ages 5 to 10, on Wednesday, July 28, at 3 p.m. This program will feature a librarian sharing favorite picture books and introducing young children to the joys of reading.
- “Little Red Riding Hood,” a special puppet show for ages 4 and older, will take place at the library on Friday, July 30, at 1:30 p.m. These events are free and open to the public. For more information, call 718-549-1212.
