Kingsbridge Heights woman stabbed to death in her home
By Nikki Dowling

A Kingsbridge Heights woman was stabbed to death in her home over the weekend and her common law husband, Hector Ramirez, is being sought by police in connection with the murder.

The stabbing took place at 2709 Webb Ave. on Sunday at approximately 4:50 a.m., police said. Brandon del Pozo, captain of the 50th precinct, said a domestic dispute arose over allegations that the victim was being unfaithful. Elia Zamora, 28, was stabbed in the chest with an unknown object.

Ms. Zamora was taken to Montefiore Medical Center and pronounced dead on arrival. The suspect fled the scene and no weapon was recovered, according to police.

Mr. Ramirez is five-feet-five-inches tall, Hispanic and approximately 180 pounds, police said.

Capt. del Pozo said the suspect has an arrest record for marijuana but had no priors related to domestic violence.

The victim’s 8-year-old son, Jesus, was in the house when the incident took place but was not injured. He is currently staying with relatives in the Bronx. The investigation is ongoing.
