No impropriety in Klein's actions

To the editor:

I am writing in response to your article regarding state Sen. Jeff Klein scoring big on appointments.

I was alarmed by the air of scandal implied by this article. I could find no impropriety upon reading into it further.

I am an active participant in this community and at my children’s school, PS 24, where I am co-president of the parents’ association. I have met several local politicians along the way.

I have to say that Mr. Klein impressed me the most with his honest and refreshingly direct approach in improving our community and schools.

As soon as he acquired our district, he brought grant money to the local schools for more enrichment programs, he brought concerts and festivals to the area and he attends several local events on an almost daily basis. I am happy to have a senator in our district who we can be proud of.

I would hope that the students at the journalism school are taught to write responsibly and not to create sensationalist stories to sell their publications and ruin the reputation of a hardworking man.
