Klein's stance is no surprise

To the editor:

I express no opinion on the Airbnb controversy. [Editor’s note: See the Oct. 6 article “Klein blasts Airbnb rentals”]. But your article’s comment that Jeffrey Klein echoes the real estate industry’s opposition to B&B’s should come as no surprise. He received more political money from Glenwood Management than any other state legislator. Glenwood also funneled large sums of money to former Assemblyman Sheldon Silver, who was criminally convicted for receiving it. Also, two years ago, Klein was part of a local political campaign that, at the instigation of Silver, falsely smeared Zephyr Teachout as anti-Israel, when she opposed Andrew Cuomo’s re-nomination. My, how times have changed! After the recent exposure of Andrew Cuomo’s corrupt connections on both sides of the Hudson River, he probably couldn’t be elected Village Dog Catcher, even if he offered to do the job free, whereas Teachout is running a very strong campaign upstate for the U.S. House of Representatives.
