Local World War II vet displays sculpture

A sculpture exhibit by Riverdale resident Jay Moss, a World War II veteran, opens at Manhattan College on Wednesday, Oct. 22 with a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. The exhibit runs until Dec. 16.

Mr. Moss, 91, began sculpting as a child and is still active. The war and other political and social issues have influenced much of his work. He headed NBC's art department in the 1950s and early 1960s and became a freelance lighting designer after that.

The show, Sculpture and Social Consciousness, is in the Alumni Room of the college's O'Malley Library (first floor, Room 100).

For more information, contact the sculptor's son, Jordan Moss, at jordanmoss.bx@gmail.com, or call (718) 710-3382.
