A 36-year-old man was killed in a car accident on the Major Deegan Expressway in North Riverdale shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday morning, according to the FDNY.
According to officials, the man was driving his 2004 Honda Accord northbound on the Major Deegan when he collided with the back of a construction truck close to Exit 12, where the expressway meets Mosholu Parkway.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the FDNY. The demolished sedan was removed and was sitting in a parking lot across from the 50th Precinct Thursday afternoon.
Concerned passersby could be seen examining the remains, which entail deployed airbags, broken windows and car seats stained with blood.
