1. Police said a 39-year-old woman reported being attacked while folding laundry in the basement of her building, located at 660 W. 232nd St., shortly after 10 a.m. on Oct. 9.
She said two people wearing masks came out of the laundry room closet and that there was brief struggle during which she was grabbed by the neck and forced to kneel. When a 48-year-old woman entered the room, police said one of the attackers fled the scene through the front door of the building and ran north along Henry Hudson Parkway. The other exited through the rear basement window and fled south along Henry Hudson Parkway.
Police said they did not leave with any property and their motive was unclear.
The case remains open.
2. Evil in elevator
A 25-year-old woman told police that she was in the elevator at 3900 Bailey Ave. at around 4 p.m. on Saturday, when somebody got on, took out a knife and demanded her purse and cell phone.
Police said the victim reported that her Samsung Galaxy, worth $300, was forcibly removed before the robber fled.
The case remains open.
3. Spiteful spree
A 36-year-old man told police that he suspected a 22-year-old woman of returning to his apartment at 3057 Bailey Ave., kicking and damaging his apartment door, ransacking his apartment and throwing his clothing outside of it, after they got into a verbal altercation shortly before 7 a.m. on Oct. 8.
The woman was arrested and charged with burglary.
4. Kung pao thieves
A Chinese food delivery man told police that on Oct. 11, shortly after 10 p.m., he entered the lobby of 290 W. 232nd St. and was robbed.
Police said the victim reported being approached by two men. One put his right arm under his sweatshirt as if to signal that he was reaching for a gun and said, “Give me the money. Give me the food. I have a gun.”
The victim said the men fled the building and ran east on West 232nd Street with the $20 and the Chinese food he was delivering.
The case remains open.
5. No backsies
A 40-year-old man told police that he asked four males for directions to the train while walking near the intersection of Van Cortlandt Park South and Review Place at about 6 p.m. on Oct. 10.
Police said that when the victim turned to walk away, somebody tapped him on the shoulder and that when he turned around, the males surrounded him and demanded his backpack.
Police said the victim reported stolen an Olympus digital camera and lens worth $1,720; a laptop worth $1,260; black dress shoes worth $585; prescription glasses worth $410; headphones worth $248; an Omega diving watch worth $5,850; and another item worth $750.
The case remains open.
