1. Robbery at Vannie
Van Cortland Park
Bronx, NY 10471
Two men told police they were robbed at knifepoint by four unknown perpetrators while walking on Van Cortlandt Park’s Putnam Trail on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
The victims, ages 18 and 19, said two men stopped them, with one brandishing a knife and the other standing behind them.
The first suspect demanded the victims’ wallets. When they complied, the perpetrators began to flee the scene before two other men approached. One man from that duo held a knife to one victim’s throat while the other suspect claimed to have a gun. The second pair of assailants took the victims’ phones and the four culprits fled the scene together.
The perpetrators reportedly stole $1,205 in merchandise, including an iPhone 6, iPhone 5S, Beats by Dre headphones, keys, wallets and IDs.
The case remains open to detectives.
