Midwife Gloria L. Murray is honored for her service

Midwife Gloria L. Murray was honored on July 19 at the Caribbean-Heritage Night, hosted by Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. at the Bronx Museum of Art.

The owner and founder of Mercy Midwives Women’s Health Center, located on Webster Avenue, Ms. Murray, has delivered more that 6,000 babies in the Bronx over the course of her career.  

After immigrating to the Bronx from South America in 1977, Ms. Murray enrolled in college and opened the Mercy Midwives Women’s Health Center in 1999. She is also affiliated with Montefiore Medical Center and St. Barnabas Hospital, according to her bio.
