Following the deadly outbreak of the Ebola virus in west Africa and other parts of the globe, the Montefiore Health System is hosting an “Ebola 101” town hall meeting on Monday, Dec. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Claremont Neighborhood Center, located at 489 E. 169th St.

Organizers said the session will offer important information about Ebola and answer audience members’ questions.

Along with Montefiore, the partners in the town hall meeting are Bronx state Sen. Gustavo Rivera, the Morris Heights Health Center and the African Advisory Council.

Mr. Rivera is also leading a medical supply drive to fight the Ebola epidemic in Sierra Leone. Town hall attendees will be able to donate supplies, which will go to hospitals in the west African country.

To RSVP for the town hall meeting or learn more about the supply drive, contact Maryam Mohammed in Mr. Rivera’s office at 718-933-2034 or mohammed@nysenate.gov.
