None are safe while council's in session

To the editor:

Manhattan Councilwoman Inez Dickens is a true profile in courage for not introducing a single piece of legislation in the past two years. Too many of her colleagues on the taxpayers’ time and dime are too busy writing and voting for frivolous legislation that infringes on constituents civil and economic liberties, along with naming streets after dead people.

They hold public hearing on proposed legislation hoping for free publicity that will assist them in greasing the wheels of reelection. All too often, this legislation includes regulations which increase the costs for residents just trying to make ends meet. Our civil and economic liberties are best protected when the City Council is not in session.
