Victim released from hospital

1. The victim of a recent stabbing attack was released from the hospital on Monday, according to police.

The 29-year-old victim suffered two stabbing wounds – in the back and in the ribs – after a verbal altercation with his assailant, police said.

The victim reportedly had been arguing with the suspect, 20, in the hallway of a building at 2834 Heath Ave., when the suspect allegedly attacked.

Police said that when they arrived on scene at 2 a.m. on Sunday, they saw the suspect trying to flee the building with a bloodstained knife in his waistband and blood on his sweatshirt.

This case is closed due to arrest.

Craddle robbers make off with Rite Aide merchandise

2. Two teens and a baby carriage were reportedly chased off the site of a Rite Aide on Knolls Crescent, but not before loading up on Red Bull, milk and Pepsi, according to police.

Officers said an employee of the Rite Aide store saw the two teenage boys leaving the store on Oct. 13, when a customer told the employee that the baby carriage, which the alleged thieves had in tow, was filled with stolen goods.

The employee, 31, approached them. One of the suspects, who not holding the stroller, allegedly punched him and the two teenagers fled the scene, according to police.

Officers said video surveillance showed the two suspects loading up the carriage with $205 worth of items from the beverage aisle, including a gallon of milk, 19 packs of Red Bull and two bottles of Pepsi.

This case is open to detectives.

Having a tough time getting away

It was another tough week for people trying to sneak past police in the 50th precinct, including one would-be burglar, a drunk driver and one man caught with weapons and drugs on his person.

3. A burglar was trying to get into a desired target on Sunday, when a resident of another apartment spotted him.

Police say a resident of 222 W. 233rd St. awoke at around 10 p.m. to the sight of an unidentified man on the fire escape. The man appeared to be descending from an upstairs window.

This case, however, is closed.

4. A driver was pulled over for running a red light at the intersection of Broadway and W. 230th Street and was arrested for driving while intoxicated, police say.

They said the arresting officer pulled over the driver after watching him run through the light. When the officer approached the car, the 34-year-old suspect smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes, police said.

An on-sight Breathalyzer exam registered a blood alcohol level of 0.101.  This case is closed due to arrest.

5. In yet another incident, police stopped a man on Oct. 12 and found him to be in possession of weapons and opiates.

Police said they stopped the suspect, 19, in front of 2960 Webb Ave. and found two knifes and a quantity of heroin and oxycodone on his person.

This case is closed. The suspect faces charges of criminal possession of a weapon and of narcotics.
