“We sent out a mailing to all parents whose records we have in our computer system, including former students and staff. Also, information about PS 51 is available on our website dedicated to the issues of the school. Parents can even get updates,” Ms. Feinberg wrote in an email.
The DOE referred the request to set up a medical registry to the state department of health.
Marty Algaze, a public information officer for the state Department of Health, said that DOH will likely begin a health study after the DOE provides a contact list of students who attended PS 51 while it was located on Jerome Avenue.
