1. 'Unlucky' Nail

Police said that on Sept. 8 at 10 p.m., the owner of Lucky Nail at 195 W. 231st St. closed the nail shop. 

According to police, when the owner returned the next day at around 9:40 a.m., she discovered that $200 had been stolen from the register. 

Police believed that the perpetrator entered through a skylight on the roof. There were no signs of forced entry. The burglary is open to detectives.

2. Nighttime robbery

A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with robbery. 

According to police, a 23-year-old male was walking near 3240 Riverdale Ave. on Sept.13 at 10:55 p.m. when a 24-year-old man struck him in the face.

After the assault, the perpetrator removed the victim’s cellphone and wallet from the pockets of his pants, police said. 

They added that the victim’s Motorola cellphone was worth $300 while his wallet was worth $50. 

3. Tires, rims removed

A 62-year-old man parked his 2013 Honda at 3101 Independence Ave. on Sept. 2 at 10 p.m. 

According to police, when he returned to the location on Sept. 3 at 8 a.m., all four of his tires were removed. 

The rims and tires were valued at $3,000. The grand larceny auto case is open to detectives.  

4. Broadway DWI

Police said that on Sept. 12 at 1 a.m., a 23-year-old was driving a black Hyundai on West 238th Street. 

According to police, the man was observed speeding down the corridor. When he was pulled over, police smelt a strong odor of alcohol. 

The driver was later arrested and charged with DWI. 

5.  Yamaha stolen

A 36-year-old man parked his black 2002 Yamaha motorcycle in front of 181 West 231st Street on Sept. 6 at 11 p.m., police said.

When he returned to the location at 3 p.m, the vehicle was missing. According to police, he was legally parked at the location and no summons were issued.  

The Yamaha was worth $4,000, according to police. The grand larceny auto case is open to detectives.
