Police Beat maps are off the mark

To the editor,

Since you are the editor of the newspaper that purports to present the news and items of interest related to our Riverdale community, I think a suggestion is in order.

Isn’t about time you either got yourself or your staff members some detailed local maps that you can use to familiarize yourselves with the neighborhood, since you can’t seem to manage to find a way to correctly identify locations on our streets?

I suggest you start with the “Living in Riverdale” insert that comes with The Riverdale Press every year because it has an excellent map in the center-fold. 

It is a disgrace that at least three out of the four items in your local “Police Beat” column by Anthony Capote were incorrectly sited on the map that accompanied the article.

It demonstrates a lack of concern for accuracy in reporting, and a disregard for attention to detail.

Perhaps Richard Stein can take you on a walking tour.
