Robbed at gunpoint

1. A 16-year-old male reported to police that he was pistol whipped and robbed at around 5 a.m. on Sunday in front of 370 W. 255th St.

The victim told police he was approached from behind by an unknown man, who asked for his cell phone while holding a black handgun to his head, police said.

The victim refused, so the man allegedly struck him, causing lacerations to the victim’s head, according to police.

When the victim fell to the ground and started screaming for help, the perp fled without the phone, according to police.

The case remains open.

 

2. Blaze at 99-cent store

A fire broke out at a 99-cent store, located at 5213 Broadway, on Aug. 28, at 2:48 a.m., police said.

Officers were flagged down by pedestrians who noticed heavy smoke billowing out of the store and into neighboring businesses, according to police. 

The blaze drew a crowd of spectators, police said.

No one was injured in the two-alarm fire and the cause is not yet known, according to police.

The FDNY is still investigating the fire.

 

3. Board mystery

A 21-year-old man was arrested for breaking into his 18-year-old girlfriend’s 5800 Arlington Ave. apartment on Aug. 28. 

The man entered the residence without permission and flashed a knife, according to the police.

The girlfriend told police he threatened her and her cat saying, “If you love your cat, you’ll give me my board.”

Police did not know what the man was referring to when he said his “board.”

Police said the man exited the apartment, at which time the woman called 9-1-1.

 

4. iPad stolen

A 42-year-old woman returned to her apartment at 3063 Godwin Terrace at around 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 28 and noticed her front door was unlocked, according to police.

When she entered the apartment, she noticed clothes were scattered around the apartment and several items were missing. She reported an iPad worth $460, an iPad charger and piggy bank containing $150 missing.

The case remains open.

5. Sunglasses stolen

A 23-year-old woman returned to 2690 Webb Ave. at around 8:15 a.m. on Monday to discover that her home had been broken into, according to police.

The woman told police her fire escape window’s lock was broken and the window was ajar when she returned home. Her property was scattered around the apartment and two items were missing: a Burberry watch worth $650 and Louis Vuitton sunglasses.

The case remains open.
