'Jenny's Penny'

The Riverdale YM-YWHA, located at 5625 Arlington Ave., presents Jenny's Penny, at 2 and 7 p.m.

The play, written and composed by January Akselrad, is based on the children's book The Wishful Penny by Jennifer Jo Young, and is directed by Ben Becher with choreography by Emily Walton.

While visiting her Grandma, a rare coin collector, Jenny learns the history of one very special 1943 wheat-ear copper penny. As she listens, Penny's journey unfolds and so does a unique wisdom that can easily apply to anyone, according to the Y.

Each performance features a book signing by Ms. Young.

The program will be repeated Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m.

General admission tickets cost $12 and can be purchased at www.riverdaley.com.
