Friends of Van Cortlandt Park invites children to be entertained in the park at 10:30 a.m.

City Councilman Oliver Koppell and The Comprehensive Citywide Ferry Study invite the public to discuss the future of New York City commuter ferry service at Riverdale Temple, located at 4545 Independence Ave., at 6:30 p.m.

Blood drive

The Benjamin Franklin Reform Democratic Club is holding a blood drive at the Riverdale Neighborhood House, located at 5521 Moshulu Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m.

RNH is also looking for volunteers to register blood donors at the event.

Flea market

Schervier Nursing Care Center, located at 2975 Independence Ave., is hosting a flea market, bake sale and raffle from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will benefit the center’s Precious Paws Pet Pantry, which assists needy seniors with pets.
