Open mic

There will be an open mic night from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Blue Door Gallery, 13 Riverdale Ave. in Yonkers.

The host and guest reader will be Golda Solomon, the poet, spoken word performer and professor of communications, speech and theater arts.

Poets are invited. Light Refreshments will be served.

Artists’ circle

Wave Hill, located at West 249th Street at Independence Avenue, will host an open-air studio session on its garden grounds at 10 a.m.

Wave Hill will provide easels and drawing boards, but not paper, canvas, or media. The program is open to artists at any skill level and will end with a facilitated critique at noon. The fee is $10 for members and $18 for nonmembers, and includes admission to the grounds.

The group is limited to 12 participants each week; registration is available at the Perkins Visitor Center, where participants should meet the day of the session. The artists’ circle will take place every Thursday in June, July, and August, weather permitting.

There will be a tour of the contemporary art on view at noon in the Glyndor Gallery at Wave Hill, located at West 249th Street at Independence Avenue, at noon.

Members’ picnic

Wave Hill members and their guests are invited to spread a blanket and eat on the grounds at the public garden, located at West 249th Street and Independence Avenue, from 6 p.m. to dusk.

Parking is free after 6 p.m. and the event will take place rain or shine.
