To avoid the fee, just don't drive
To the editor: Re: Bill Stone's letter to the editor, "Mayor's traffic plan is 'ill-conceived,'" Oct. 11. I wonder where Mr. Stone got the idea that Kingsbridge residents will pay the full $8 congestion pricing fee and that Riverdale residents will pay a little less. I live in Marble Hill and I know that I will not be paying this congestion fee, and I don't expect my neighbors in Kingsbridge and Riverdale to pay either. Why should they, with four subway stops along Broadway, three Metro-North stations in the area, two Manhattanbound bus routes and an express bus? (Not to mention the nearby West Side and East Side Greenway bike paths in Manhattan allowing a safe car-free bike ride downtown.) Personally, I'm tired of congested streets as well as the road rage and air and noise pollution that come with them. MICHAEL KONRAD
