Two Holocaust survivors speak at Manhattan College
Holocaust survivors Martin Spett and Gisela Glaser will discuss their experiences at Manhattan College on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m., in Smith Auditorium, West 242nd Street, near Broadway. The event is part of the Holocaust Resource Center's "Survivors and Their Stories" program and is free and open to the public. The two speakers are the subjects of two DVDs created by Manhattan College students Liz Harris, Chris McShane and Alex Koveos. The DVDs, No Time To Cry: Gisela Glaser's Holocaust Memories and An Interview with Martin Spett, preserve the survivors' legacy in an intimate setting. Excerpts of the DVDs will be shown prior to the discussion. Mr. Spett will focus his discussion on his Holocaust-themed artwork, while Ms. Glaser will read pieces of her poetry and share her haunting memories of life under Nazi tyranny. For more information about this lecture, call Dr. Jeff Horn, associate professor of history and director of the Holocaust Resource Center at Manhattan College, at 718-862-7129 or e-mail jeff.horn@ manhattan.edu.
