Vintage goods stolen

1. Police said a 75-year-old woman parked her car at 3950 Blackstone Ave. on Dec. 30, leaving a number of vintage items she had purchased inside the vehicle.

When she returned on Jan. 2 at 8:45 a.m., she found the inside of her vehicle strewn with newspapers. An unknown perpetrator had removed sterling candy dishes, sterling candlesticks, bronze figures, plates with bird scenery, French porcelain plates, flowers, Old English China plates and crystal dishes. The goods were valued at a total of $1,952. 

The grand larceny case is under investigation. 

2. Assault on Broadway

Authorities said two men, ages 36 and 31, were standing outside a deli at 6655 Broadway on Dec. 31 at 10:05 p.m. when they got into a verbal dispute. 

As the fight escalated, the 36-year-old threw a hot cup of coffee at 31-year-old’s face and arms, then fled in a vehicle. 

Later, he was arrested and charged with felony assault. 

3. Delafield burglary

A 59-year-old man living in a house near 246th Street and Delafield Avenue woke up at 5 a.m. on Dec. 31 to drop his son off at the train when he realized his office area had been disturbed, according to police.

Upon inspection, he discovered two laptops, including a $2,000 Macbook, were missing. 

Stepping outside, the man found one of the laptops, along with a flashlight, in his front yard. The burglary case is open to detectives. 

4. Bicycle thief

Police said on Dec. 30, a 49-year-old woman left her bicycle in the backyard of her home at West 245th Street and Delafield Avenue. 

The next day at 8 a.m., she discovered the bicycle was gone. 

The petit larceny case is under investigation. 

5. Toyota taken

A 25-year-old man parked his 1990 grey Toyota Camry at the southeast corner of Sedgwick Avenue and Reservoir Avenue on Jan. 3. When he returned to the location on the 4th at 1 p.m., he discovered his vehicle was missing. 

The grand larceny case is open to detectives.
