Webb Avenue robbery

A man walking home from his mother’s house along Webb Avenue on May 28 was thrown to the ground by an alleged robber who ran off with his wallet and cell phone, according to police.

The 23-year-old man notified police at 5:40 a.m. and said someone grabbed him from behind and pushed him to the pavement near 2703 Webb Ave. Police said the robber swiped a wallet with $200 in cash and a Sprint cell phone from the victim. 

The case remains open.

Wii missing

A 47-year-old woman discovered the lock on her 2785 University Ave. apartment door had been busted and several Nintendo Wii electronics were missing when she came home on May 30, according to police.

The woman called police at 7:45 p.m. and said someone broke in through her front door and took a Wii videogame system valued at $200, a dozen videogames collectively worth $600 and a $700 graduation ring.

The case remains open.

Whiskey and watches stolen

A 55-year-old man called police on June 1 after he discovered the door to his 120 W. 228th St. home had been forced open and his whiskey and watches were missing.

The man told police at 3:50 p.m. that he returned to a broken lock on his apartment door. He reported that two bottles of whiskey, two watches and an assortment of coins worth about $50 had been taken.

The case remains open.

Grand theft Suzuki

Police said a 25-year-old man left his Suzuki motorcycle locked up in the driveway of 5138 Post Road and found nothing but the lock and chain when he returned five days later on May 30.

The man reported that his $11,600 Suzuki GSX-R600 was stolen at 9:50 p.m. Police said the chain he used to lock up the bike was clamped around a pole when he returned.

The case remains open.

Robber suspect video

Police released video of a robbery suspect on June 1 and asked anyone who recognized the man who threatened a women with a box cutter last week to call the 50th Precinct.

The video shows a roughly 5-foot-8 man in his 30s walking through the building’s lobby with a white cloth over his face. Both of his arms have tattoos.

Police said the man followed a 30-year-old woman into her 2800 University Ave. building at 1:30 p.m. on May 26. He walked up the steps behind her, stopped her between the fourth and fifth flights, flashed a box cutter and demanded her purse and jewelry, according to police.

The woman told police she gave him a $400 piece of jewelry before he ran off.
