Vet's Day All Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar restaurants, including the one at 76 W. 225th St. in Kingsbridge, will honor U.S. veterans and active duty military with a free meal on Veteran's Day. All guests with proof of current or former U.S. military service will receive a free entrée from a selection of six signature favorites, the restaurant says. Vet discount The Bronx Botanical Garden, Bronx River Parkway at Fordham Road, is offering free grounds admissions and a veteran's discount for on-site ticket sales of the All-Garden Pass only. Grounds admission is free for all visitors throughout the day and United States veterans receive $5 off the All-Garden Pass purchased on-site with proof of military service. Memorial grove A Veteran's Day ceremony will be held at Van Cortlandt Park's World War II Memorial Grove near Broadway at West 246th Street, beginning at 12:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by Memorial Grove Restoration Group, which has been working to ensure the veterans honored there are remembered.
