Alleged shooting victim really shot self, police say

1. Man shoots self

This week a 19-year-old resident of the Ft. Independence Houses, located at 4340 Bailey Ave., told police that he was attacked outside of his apartment by a man who punched him in the back of the head, pointed a gun at him and shot him in the hip.
2. Heroin user revived
3615 Greystone Ave.
Bronx, NY
Officers responded to a radio call at 3615 Greystone Ave. on Feb. 25 at around 7:35 p.m. When they arrived, they found a woman unconscious on the floor as the result of an apparent heroin overdose. When it became clear that the victim was completely unresponsive, the police used the opioid overdose antidote naloxone to revive her. The woman immediately regained consciousness and was transported to a hospital. This case is closed.
3. Van’s contents pilfered
6687 Broadway
New York, NY
A white Chevrolet van listed as a commercial vehicle was broken into on Feb. 24, according to police. The victim, a 26-year old male, said he parked the van opposite 6687 Broadway overnight. When he returned, he found that several items, including a tool belt, a power drill and drill bit set were missing form the vehicle. The total value of the items was placed at $930. Since the vehicle was for commercial use, the crime was listed as a burglary. The case remains open to detectives.
4. Little Caesar’s robbed
119 W. Kingsbridge Road
Bronx, NY
Police said a man robbed the Little Caesar’s pizzeria at 119 W. Kingsbridge Road at gunpoint on Feb. 27. The perpetrator reportedly walked into the restaurant around 10:50 p.m., lifted his shirt to display a firearm and ordered an employee to empty a cash register. The cashier handed $200 to the suspect, described as a 5-foot-8 Hispanic male weighing 150 pounds, who then feld on foot. The case is still open to detectives.
5. Teen smoker arrested
210 W. 230th St.
Bronx, NY
Police said they observed and arrested a 17-year-old male smoking marijuana inside 210 W. 230th St. at 9 p.m. on Feb. 25. He was charged with criminal possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. The case is closed to arrest.
