Atria Riverdale's "Birthday in a Box" Project to Benefit Children in Shelters

Atria Riverdale residents hosted five homeschooled children and their parents - part of the New York City Home Educators Alliance (NYCHEA) – all of whom joined Atria residents to pack "birthday boxes" for children living in shelters. Those parents who cannot afford to buy birthday party supplies will now have the opportunity to throw birthday parties for their children! Residents helped pack tablecloths, cups, plates, party favors, balloons, cake mix and frosting, then painted decorations on the boxes and wrote personal wishes on birthday cards for the final touch!
