Congestion pricing: Yes

My mother is among thousands of hard-working Bronxites who commute to Manhattan every day, via the sputtering, struggling and unreliable 1 train.

Fixing the subway system, a vital artery for working families, shouldn’t be done on the backs of people like her.

The math is simple — saying no to congestion pricing legislation only protects 4 percent of the wealthiest outer-borough residents who commute to Manhattan for work by car. Folks from the Bronx overwhelmingly travel to work by subway, just like my mom.

So here’s an opportunity for Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, and other reluctant elected officials, to put their money where their mouths are and support solutions for hard-working Bronxites who rely on the MTA. Say yes to congestion pricing.

Fixing New York City’s transit nightmare is everyone’s responsibility — especially those whom we elected to get the job done.
