Don't bow to OU pressure

So glad I am no longer a member of the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale.

Zak Kostro’s article describes how, despite its past stance on inclusiveness, the HIR is bowing to pressure by the Orthodox Union by curtailing its open arms to LGBTQ members.

Hasn’t the administration learned what it means to speak truth to power?

When the OU asserts a policy which is unloving, unaccepting, indecent, the people must reject it. Every member of the community has a right to love and celebrate with whom he or she chooses, and a warm, safe Bayit would join in the celebration.

I hope HIR develops some backbone.
