Forget about Trump's dalliances — what about Bill Clinton's?

I recently saw an ad in Jewish Week promoting a discussion between former president Bill Clinton and George Bush, and moderated by Doris Kearns Goodwin, to be held at the Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center on Nov. 8.

This is an extremely prestigious event, and I wondered why Bill Clinton — a known sexual predator — is being honored in such a way, especially during this current climate of rampant “Me Too”ism, when so many other prominent celebrities such as Harvey Weinstein, Matt Lauer, Charlie Rose, James Levine, etc., have been publicly humiliated and disgraced?

Why is Bill Clinton being esteemed and glorified while Donald Trump is being raked over the coals on a daily basis for his sexual behavior that is not nearly as nauseating and disgusting as that of “Slick Willie”?

Let’s now compare the sexual predatory history of these two presidents, starting with Donald Trump.

We are all familiar with the “Access Hollywood” tapes containing Trump’s infamous phrase of how to “grab ‘em,” which although NBC had had in its possession for a long time, timed its release as an “October surprise” just prior to the president election in the hope of destroying any slim chance the 1,000-to-1 underdog, Donald Trump, had to win.

Thankfully, for many reasons, it didn’t work. “Crooked Hillary” lost.

Over the last year or so, there have been many women (most of them accompanied by lawyers, wonder why?) coming out of the woodwork after many years to accuse Mr. Trump of various inappropriate sexual advances culminating, at present, with the Stormy Daniels saga.

Several years ago, Daniels had a consensual sexual encounter with Mr. Trump, for which she was paid $130,000 for signing a non-disclosure agreement. Now she wants to nullify that agreement by paying back the money so she can make many times that $130,000 (probably millions of dollars). My mother used the words “tramp” and “gold digger” to describe women like Stormy Daniels.

Now, let’s turn to Bill Clinton, who has had many charges brought against him by women accusing him of making inappropriate sexual advances against him while he was governor of Arkansas. These charges are similar to the ones made against Trump, but with one major exception — Juanita Broaddrick accused Bill Clinton of rape.

But what I want to concentrate on now is the Monica Lewinsky affair, which I contend puts Bill Clinton’s sexual and moral depravity in a class by itself. Many of the facts given below can be found by Googling Monica Lewinsky on Wikipedia in a section titled “Scandal.”

On Jan. 26, 1998, President William Jefferson Clinton went on national television, looked millions of people in their eyes — and in a voice dripping with faked sincerity — uttered those infamous, lying words, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.” To those of you who don’t know the story, Miss Lewinsky was a young intern who worked for Bill Clinton, who thought she was in love with him, and was taken advantage of by, arguably, the most powerful man in the world.

In testimony given to special counsel Kenneth Starr, she stated that between November 1995 and March 1997, she engaged with President Clinton in sexual acts that did not involve sexual intercourse. 

When rumors first surfaced about the Clinton/Lewinsky relationship, the Clinton attack machine went into action and tried to destroy this young girl’s reputation by calling her a liar and all sorts of vile names, such as “slut,” “bimbo” and “whore.” And had Miss Lewinsky had not kept the famous blue dress, she would have had no proof that it was Clinton, not her, who was the liar.

Bill Clinton was perfectly willing to ruin a young girl’s life (think of her as your daughter or sister), and yet this low-life, this scumbag is idolized and honored by Democrats when he should be rightfully scorned and ostracized.
