Freeze warning in effect until Saturday morning

If you think it's cold now, the National Weather Service warns its about to get colder.

The service has issued a freeze warning beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, continuing until 8 a.m. Saturday morning. It includes not only the Bronx, but all of New York Cirty, as well as Suffolk, Nassau and Westchester Counties.

Temperatures are expected to drop to the upper teens to lower 20s. These conditions could kill crops and plants, as well as any other temperature-sensitive vegetation. It also will mark the end of the growing season for 2017.

A freeze warning means below-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely.
